One child, with Pop Lyrics in the car.

IMAG1357This is my lil baby, sigh.
She is my only child, and plan on keeping it that way, lol. She and I love music, however at times it gets awkward. Pop music lyrics can be a bit on the edge, for a almost 8yr old.

Today there was no school, so my daughter likes to come to work with me at my office. During our commute to Baltimore, we listened to…well…my favorite morning radio show “The Kane Show”. I was running late for work so we only caught pretty much more of the music, then the topics of discussion. As she danced and waved her hands in the car to her various songs, she caught my attention when singing Bruno Mars, “Locked Out Of Heaven”. She doesn’t know the lyrics, but of course she gets the hook of the song

Cause your sex takes me to paradise
Yeah your sex takes me to paradise
And it shows, yeah, yeah, yeah
Cause you make feel like, I’ve been locked out of heaven
For too long, for too long
Yeah you make feel like, I’ve been locked out of heaven
For too long, for too long
Oh yeah yeah yeah

I mean how is it that, well she can remember the lyrics to that part, lol. Anyway, I just kinda looked over to her and I said, “You know these pop songs are fun an all, but just be careful when you sing around school.” “It can be inappropriate not just around your school mates, but school period.” She smiled “Yes, mommy I know. I can be mature about it.”

Yeaaaa, parenting is very interesting as the years continue to go by.
